The first volumne of the Monthly Information Service [M.I.S.] was edited in August 1999. As a cooperation between the section of Early Modern History of Virtual Library History (Department of History, University of Dortmund), Server Early Modern History (Ludwig Maximilians University / Bavarian State Library, Munich) and WWW-Virtual Library Museums (Historical Center Hagen) this service has about 20.000 subcribers world-wide. 

The available informations range across the spectrum of VL Museums from museology to exhibitions, news, meetings and reviews. The main area of this service in museological informations is Germany, Austria and Switzerland, but the other parts on Early Modern History contain international resources. Reviews of books and exhibitions will first be disseminated through our regular VL Museums and SFN site and then posted permanently in the forums of H-Soz-u-Kult and H-Net.
